Welcome to tūla + tye, a boutique slow fashion and lifestyle brand with sustainability at its core.
Tūla means ‘cotton’ in Sanskrit; one of the most important commodities in the world. As a natural fibre, cotton is sustainable and renewable, but in recent years, the quantity needed to support the fast fashion industry has meant huge amounts of water consumption and chemical usage have become part of the process.
At tūla + tye we believe that the future of fashion can be sustainable and ethical, as well as socially and environmentally responsible. One day, we hope that this will be the new normal, but for now, we’re leading the way by bringing you our collection of inclusive and conscious unisex clothing.
Five percent of all tūla + tye profits will be donated to various charities that support the journey to fight plastic polluting our oceans. From our first collection, we’ll be donating to The Ocean Cleanup; a non-profit organisation developing technologies and systems to both clean up existing waste and prevent plastic pollution.
tūla + tye products are made with high-quality sustainable materials from a mixture of pre- and post-consumer textiles, organic cotton, and recycled plastic bottles that have been transformed into polyester.
These are hand-dyed in the UK using eco-friendly pigments - some of which are even obtained from local factories who were prepared to let them go to waste. Our labels, tags and packaging are all made from organic and recycled materials and are recyclable or reusable and our mailing bags are biodegradable.
To minimise waste, we make everything in small quantities, but you can backorder anything you like and we’ll get it to you as soon as we can.
We have carefully chosen to work with suppliers who share our values and have a strong commitment to both people and the planet.
All our suppliers are all certified by one or more of the following bodies:
GOTS, Global Recycle Standard, Recycled Claim Standard, Organic Content Standard, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the Fair Wear Foundation, Sedex and REACH.
Our dyes are approved by the Soil Association and Oeko-Tex Eco Passport.
